It’s not quite September, but I’m anxious for Fall to begin. This has been the hottest Spring and Summer months in Florida that I can recall.
I’m ready for cooler weather, pumpkin everything, and the coziness of early sunset evenings.
I know I have a while to wait, but these photos and quotes might help me pretend to be bundling in front of a warm fire, even if it is still in the 90s outside.
So turn down the air conditioning, grab a blanket along with your favorite flavored coffee, hot tea, or cocoa with marshmallows, and enjoy!

Autumn leaves don’t fall; they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar.

“That old September feeling, left over from school days, of summer passing, vacation nearly done, obligations gathering, books and football in the air … Another fall, another turned page: there was something of jubilee in that annual autumnal beginning, as if last year’s mistakes had been wiped clean by summer.”

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand, and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.
